Many people specially the conventional thinkers, doubt the authenticity of the casual jobs. Some people believe that casual jobs are merely “casual jobs” which shouldn’t be taken seriously. In actuality, casual carry many benefits. They present within themselves, a very real and authentic earning opportunities.
What is casual job?
Casual job also called casual employment is an Australian employment system validated by Workplace Relations Amendment Act 2005. Casual job entails a person to withdraw a greater-than-usual hourly rate (minimum requirement at least 20%). But the dynamics vary to that of “regular” job such as no paid or sick leaves and holidays.
Why should I look into casual jobs?
Despite the few disadvantages it carries, the casual employment system has been widely accepted as a great earning opportunity by the Aussie folks. According to a recent survey around 32% of all employment in Australia is casual.
Casual job is one of the very rare scenarios in our lives which present a win-win opportunity. It is mutually beneficial for both employers and the employee. How? It’s very simple. The employer hires the employee for a very specific job portion. He normally knows what he needs to get done. This allows the employer a chance to hire people keenly. Since he is not signing you up for a full time contract, the decision making becomes easy. He can just hire you “like that”.
For employees, the benefits are greater. An employee can work part-time in the area of his interest and earn decent money. This also enables the employee to focus on his studies, family, routine work or something else he can never hope to do with a full-time regular job. An employee can work as much (or as little) as he wants. He has this freedom.
In Australia, students have shown a more profound desire to engage in casual employment. Understandably it suits them. They can focus on their studies while earning their bucks doing some easy work.
A study conducted in Australia in 2010 shows that contractors or employers tend to hire the same people over and over again. Since a working relationship is developed which is mutually comfortable, both the employers and the employees tend to benefit from it.
A hoax or a real earning opportunity
Circling back to our title, it is easy to state that casual jobs are a great earning prospect. They are ideally suited for many people and they certainly cannot be cast aside as something unreal, useless or hoax.
